With any new truck, it’s important to be aware of what it’s capable of accomplishing on an everyday basis, and the GMC Canyon certainly features the ability to get a lot done. Although it’s looked at as a “small” pickup truck in the market, it isn’t a slouch with its towing or performance. An optional towing capacity of up to 7,700 pounds will be a tough stat to match, along with a large interior that offers you a large amount of space to bring more items. The Canyon AT4 and Denali trim levels have a slightly lighter 7,550 pounds of towing power while providing even more impressive optional amenities. The GMC Canyon AT4 trim can equip some unbeatable available Goodyear® Wrangler Duratrac® 31-inch Tires to provide the GMC Canyon a bold look. The fuel-powered 2.5-liter powertrain is going to be standard in the GMC Canyon, but an optional 3.6-liter V6 or 2.8L Turbo-Diesel Duramax® engine could be used if you want it.

The Canyon takes just 6.7 seconds to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour, presumably for many of the truck’s trim levels. Seeing how the Canyon uses such a robust frame and body, it’ll need some time to hit faster speeds on the road, but it’ll hit them. The 0-60 mph times haven’t been officially released for every different trim, but an estimated 6.7 second 0-60 mph time is a great measuring stick for time to predict the trim levels 0-60 mph times.

The Canyon has a 98 mph maximum speed. A quick top speed might be impressive to hear, but you shouldn’t try to reach high speeds frequently. You have to obey the local traffic and speeding regulations. Plus, it’ll take you a long time to hit excessive speeds due to the GMC Canyon’s size. The max speed of 98 miles per hour is seen in each model and is limited by the software in the truck.
What is the Canyon Horsepower?
The Canyon has 200 horsepower in the standard setup. This is right from the base 2.5-liter DOHC I-4 with Direct Injection powertrain that also produces 191 lb-ft of torque to fulfill its massive towing capability. The available 2.8L Diesel Duramax® 4-cylinder powertrain creates 369 lb-ft of torque and 181 horsepower along with a slightly larger curb weight. In between the pair of engine options is the V6 3.6-liter engine with the best power output, measuring in at 308hp and 275 lb-ft of torque.

I’m in the market for a used GMC Sierra 2023 with the Duramax 3.0 engine! I’ve been looking at Carfax documentation and had questions so since this dealer is close I decided to stop in and talk to service before looking at the actual vehicle!!! Had specific appointment time of 12:30 pm that was supposed to be ready by 3 to 4 pm. When I called to check on it at 4 they had started service but would probably need to keep it overnight, which they did. It wasn't ready till late afternoon the second day. They recommended very expensive repairs ($4000+) which were questionable.
