2020 GMC Acadia: Specs, Features & Trim Comparison
The GMC Acadia was the manufacturer's initial entry-level crossover and the first FWD passenger vehicle from GMC. While it has been a solid and reliable vehicle, GMC needed to upgrade the Acadia to compete with the brand new rivals that have been appearing like ants at a picnic. Will the updates be enough to challenge in the fiercely contested SUV market? While not all of the details are available on the 2020 GMC Acadia, it seems it will indeed be a solid competitor.
The '20 GMC Acadia is built on the same architecture and is a mechanical twin to the new Chevy Blazer. That indicates that they both share the 2.5L 4-cylinder and the 3.6L V6 power plants mated to a 9-speed automatic. While some of the official numbers are not yet available, it is anticipated that both engines will be really similar in power and fuel efficiency. What's fascinating is that the Acadia will include an optional 3rd engine that's currently not available on the Blazer. A brand-new 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder will be standard on the Acadia SLT and Denali trims. This brand-new turbo 4cyl is expected to create 237 horsepower, blending both power and efficiency.
While the Blazer and Acadia might be mechanical twins, that is where the resemblances end. Whereas the Blazer is made to be flashy, the 2020 GMC Acadia is purpose-built to provide a premium driving experience. The updated, bolder styling includes new LED headlights and tail lamps with distinct C-shaped lights while available 20-inch wheels and optional warmed, power-adjustable, power-folding outside mirrors complete the sensational exterior upgrade. There is also a brand new, off-road version, the very first Acadia AT4. Inside you will find 3 rows of seating with the choice of 6 or 7 passengers, genuine wood accents, and Smart Slide capability in the 2nd row seats. Pleasant and trendy, the attention to detail is evident in the 2020 GMC Acadia.
The '20 Acadia includes an 8-inch touchscreen, an available 6-inch color HUD, available Rear Camera Mirror and Active Noise Cancellation. If safety innovation is what you need, there are two tiers of the Driver Alert Package. The Driver Alert Package features Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assist. Select the Driver Alert Package II and you'll get Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning as a component of the bundle. The brand-new GMC Acadia was designed to keep you safe and secure in a crash, but also to help you stay clear of one in the first place.
