2020 GMC Sierra vs Canyon: Specs, Features & Trim Comparison
GMC has been among the leaders in remarkable pickups and continues to wow buyers yearly. The 2020 GMC Sierra and 2020 GMC Canyon are leading the way for GMC. Two brand-new versions in the Sierra and Canyon pickups improve on these designs.
Design
Both pickup trucks follow a sharp look that is distinct to the look that GMC has ended up being recognized for. While the Sierra is more sleek and reflects the technology occurring, the Canyon complies with more assertive design cues in its signature style. While both pickup trucks have incorporated CornerStep rear bumpers for easy access to the cargo bed, one layout component they differ in is their illumination. The Sierra has GMC Signature C-Shaped LED Lighting for the headlights, for the Canyon there's projector-beam headlights with LED trademark lights. They share the same dimensions in standard wheels, both 20-inches, but the Sierra has light weight aluminum wheels and the Canyon has diamond cut machined wheels.
Engine, Powertrain & Performance
With both automobiles powered by GMC engines, they supply various engine options depending on what the driver desires. The Sierra Denali offers a 5.3L V8 engine that gives 355hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. At the same time, the 2020 Canyon Denali is powered by a 3.6L V6 engine that makes 308hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. Both pickup trucks have 10-speed automatics on Four-Wheel Drive versions and 8-speed auto transmissions on Two-Wheel Drive models. The gas mileage for both pickup trucks are very similar, with the Sierra clocking in at 22mpg for 4WD and 23 miles per gallon for 2WD. For the Canyon, it gets 24mpg on the freeway.
Technology
GMC has always had the driver's safety in mind when creating technology. The Canyon has a list of safety amenities consisting of new tire fill alerts, back seat reminders, and HD back vision cameras for trailer safety. The Sierra also has a lot of tools to help drivers tow with confident control with the Prograde Trailering System. With that system, the Sierra has an in-vehicle trailering application, smart trailer integration, and impressive towing capability. Audio-wise, they both share Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility via an 8-inch GMC stereo system. The Sierra also offers a cordless charging pad for compatible smart devices within easy reach. For pickup safety, both pick-up trucks supply a Teen Driver feature that encourages safe driving habits. Depending upon what you need from a truck, the 2020 GMC Sierra and 2020 Canyon both offer exceptional options for what you require.
